Meadowsong Ecovillage

LIVE IN AN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY IN OREGON

Welcome to Meadowsong Ecovillage!

We are a dynamic group of 35-50 residents who choose to co-create our lives together on this very sacred piece of land. Together, we are exploring the importance of responsible living in our world today on ecological, social, economic, cultural, and spiritual levels. Our community actively pursues deeper understandings of relating authentically and compassionate communication, which encourages us to connect more honestly with ourselves, each other, and the world at large.

We are always interested in new residents who are skilled in the following areas:

  • Animal Husbandry (sheep, goats, chickens, etc.)

  • Organic Farming

  • Permaculture Design

  • Carpentry and Maintenance

  • Business Administration

  • Permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture

  • Restoration Forestry

We deliberately gather around a set of collective understandings and interests, including sociocracy, permaculture, and non-violent communication. Living in community isn’t always easy, but because we have a solid foundation, set ways to explore conflict, and an overarching care for each other, we often reach agreeable solutions. And while every resident is drawn to the land for a slightly different reason, there are aspects that all of us hold in our hearts:

  • A deep care for the value of all living things on this planet, including ourselves, each other, humanity at large and the natural world.

  • A willingness to explore and venture upon a more holistic life-path.

  • An interest in understanding and creating the essence of family and community.

  • A dedication to personal growth, healing, transformation, and/or spiritual understanding.

We are all working together to co-create a personally satisfying, service-oriented, inter-generational community that works to become conscious of our impacts on each other and our environment, and therefore ourselves and our collective future.

At Meadowsong Ecovillage, we seek to celebrate and honor diversity, whether that be through perspective, race, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, background, age, etc. We open our arms and hearts to all those who wish to bring us their experiences of privilege and oppression, of joy and pain, of love and fear. We as a community are constantly learning about how best to serve the world, and invite those who wish to teach, learn, and honor the differences and similarities within all of us.

When considering new residents, we invite the following qualities:

  • People who are excited to live in a permaculture-based intentional community where active participation in land-based and community building projects is required.

  • People who are actively self-aware and mindful, who are cultivating a balanced and healthy relationship with their inner lives and the outer world.

  • People who are active participants in our community life, who are excited to share themselves, their interests, their talents, their challenges, and their friendship, in an ongoing way with our community.

  • People who have integrity and honor their agreements, who can speak what is true for them and own their experience, follow through with their commitments, and who align their values with their actions.

  • People who are called to create a home in our community, who are or have a plan to be financially stable.
